Game Programming (applied design research in computer game design)

This is an introductory course in which students will learn more about designing, programming and developing computer games and simulations. Topics will include basic game/simulation design, programming and development, as well as the role of the game/simulation designer, programmer and developer.

Students will be introduced to programming using an online Game Engine (such as DimensionX or Unity). The students will use provided or leverage their own created assets and create a small introductory game or games using existing Game Engine software. 

This study unit will provide students with the necessary skills to build online games and understand the challenges that exist in designing online games.
