Gaming Software Applications

The aim of this study unit is to expose students to tools that are used in developing gaming applications. These include graphics packages such as Photoshop and GIMP, 3D modelling software such as Marmoset and UDK and vector design software such as Illustrator and Inkscape.

Through this module, students will be exposed to the tools that are used to design games and how models created by these applications are then used to develop interactive models in games.

The practical aspects learned in this module will lead the students to develop a small prototype of an online game based on the designs created during this course.
